WhatsApp Conversations between group

Emails confirming cast

For our opening sequence we sent out an email to the people we wanted to cast in it. This consisted of Tally Goss, Simon Wood and Annie Youngman.
The top image is the email our group member Floss Webber put together and sent out to the selected people to ask permission and see if they wanted to be in it. The final images are their replies.

Feedback from test audience

We showed our class our test shoot and we definitely got a great response back from them. They were very helpful and gave us pointers on what we could improve but the also told us the tings they liked.

They didn't understand why there needed to be two girls in the car and therefore we have now decided to only use one. They also didn't understand some of the car scene but this was also because we didn't use an actual car and only used chairs and a chocolate box.

They liked the fact that she manages to escape the kidnapper and one point and run away as this creates tensions as the audience is left wondering if she gets out alive or is later on killed.

Q&A

We decided to recreate Vogues 73 questions to help promote our film and let the audience have a little more background into our opening sequence. Linked below is the edited version of the questions. We decided to take it in turns to answer and ask questions so all of the group was included and it then also helped us have a little bit of practice with production and editing.

Q&A Questions

We decided to make a parody of Vogues 73 questions, to let the audience know what they should expect.

1. What is the narrative of the film as a whole?

2. What opening sequence are you going to use?

3. What colour palette will you use for the opening sequence?

4. Who have you cast as the actors?

5. What is the narrative of the opening sequence?

6. What inspired you to come up with the idea for your film?

7. Where will you be filming?

8. What will the format be on the screen?

Run Through Test Shoot

To help us get a better idea of what we wanted our opening sequence to look like, we decided to use our shot list to create a test shoot. This was filmed on an iPhone and we used everyday items that we found in school so then we could decide what we did and didn't like. We briefly edited it together so we knew what our film could potentially look like. We didn't use any actors, we just solely used the members of our group to act in it. This also helped us understand what we want our future actors to be like.

Story Board

Here are some pictures of the story board we created to help us map out what we wanted the shots to look like.

Risk Assessment for Opening Sequence

Props and Costs

                                     Total: 200.49

Finalised Locations

For the locations for our opening sequence we want them to take place in:

Hurtwood House main house gravel parking area.

We want to have the opening of our sequence to take place here. We think it would be a good place to have it as the effect of the car driving on the gravel would be a really good sound to have and also because the building looks like somewhere there could have been a party.

Surrey Hills, Woods

The second place we want to have is in the woods of the Surrey Hills that are right next to Hurtwood House. The reason we want to film in these woods is because when we film our chase scene the effect the dark, mysterious woods can bring will create tension for the watcher.

Car.

This isn't a location but quite a bit of our filming will take place in a car, preferably a Toyota Prius but we think we might have to have a Ford Focus as that is the only car we have access to. The reason we are going to be filming in the car is so it looks like it could be an uber. And for our story line we need to see the inside of the car to unveil more of the story.
